Blazend

What is Blazend?

Blazend harkens back to an older period of space shooter games from the Super Nintendo, Genesis, and TurboGrafx era. It is strictly meant to be a classic experience without putting a big emphasis to the amount of bullets on screen. It is meant to deliver a similar experience to Gradius, R-Type, and Raiden. That's not to say it doesn't take inspiration from the bullet hell genre as well.

Story Synopsis:

In Blazend you play as a hero setting out to clear some space debris in the orbit of your home planet, Vestroia. Unfortunately, all is not as it seems, as the debris begins attacking the hero! On closer inspection, it appears to be strange alien life-form that originated from a deeper part of space. The origin and the motive of the attack is unknown. You are the planets only hope; using

your skills as a pilot, progress through the story fighting various enemies and bosses in this classic shoot-em up style game!

• 7 unique levels are planned, with possibility of more being added
• A complete story from start to finish 
• In-game achievements
• Variety of difficulty levels welcoming novice player

(01/07/2022) BLAZEND IS NOW OUT!

              

We are excited to announce that Blazend has finally been released on January 7th @3:00 PST!

THE STEAM page for Blazend has finally been launched and the game can be wish-listed and purchased HERE.

Although Blazend is finally out, we still have big updates that are in the pipeline and will be released at a later date. Check them out below!

Other non-major additions currently being discussed are more variety in the difficulty levels in terms of enemy placement, as well as the possibility of a local co-op mode.

• Major difficulty balancing and changes (VERY EASY mode added)
• Cheat list added that is viewable after clearing the game once on any difficulty
• Cheats can be toggled with gamepad
• TATE mode and rotation options
• Adjusted enemy health pools for large enemies and bosses 
  
• MANY QOL changes including more readable font for story dialogue, more on screen prompts alerting you of danger from behind
• Tutorial added
• Leaderboards (Only works on Steam version)
• New scoring mechanics that give more rewards based on difficulty/player power
• Many many more fixes and changes that I can't even keep track of...
